Hi there!

Welcome to my website!

I am Sahnawaz, a PhD candidate at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland. As a member of the LasIonDef Project,  I am delving into the exciting world of Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers in diamond. To learn more about my research and current work, please check out the Research Page.

But this website is about more than just research. I also believe that celebrating life is important, so I've created a space to share my thoughts and experiences about life.

[A physicists credo]

NV center in diamond

The nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center is a unique defect in diamond that consists of a nitrogen atom next to a missing carbon atom (vacancy). This defect has remarkable properties that allow it to interact with light and magnetic fields, making it valuable for advanced applications such as quantum computing, sensing, and imaging at the nanoscale.

We determine the strain tensor components in a diamond waveguide.

In this study, we  show that zero-field ODMR spectroscopy can provide enough data to fully characterize the spatial distribution of strain in laser-written diamond waveguides.
